There are special aspects of being a human being which are brought forth in Christianity (and in other beliefs.) There are endless struggles by other humans – or worse, inhuman entities – to suppress or control the will of humans. True Christianity is a rejection of these controlling forces. Certainly imperial Rome filled the bill for an oppressing force. But affirmation of humans and Christianity arise from the same root.
I do not know enough of Judaism and Islam to properly understand their connection to God and humanity, but they seem, correctly practiced, to offer that connection, too. We follow the path that is lit for us.
Merry Christmas to all!
